Nosher's degree course - BA Business Studies - was a "sandwich course" which required a year out in industry. After a few interviews, including one for American Express in Brighton, a job came up for a small printing company in Norwich. Nosher had been working for (and had printed bits of) the student newspaper "Fly" for a while, and so the chance to work for a real printing company seemed to be a good fit.

The job was meant to have been in marketing, but it quickly moved towards finance (being placed with the Finance Director helped). Nosher's thing for computing soon took over, and the job started to include stuff like financial modelling (making huge financial spreadsheet models in Multiplan on a Wang PC) and on-line credit checking. This involved dialing up various services to do credit checks on potential clients for Soman's, as well as frequenting the odd bulletin board service. Eventually, a shiny new Opus PC III with colour CGA graphics was purchased. There was also some early work on printing estimating software.
