Originally known as the Beverly Brothers, in some nod to the singing girl-band of the 1940s and 50s, the BBs had been going for a while until singer Jo Bowley joined the band in 2001. Then, in 2003 when rhythm-guitarist Rob Folkard left, Rob Huckfield looked around for something different and after an audition at the Diss Youth Club, Nosher joined up to play piano and Hammond organ. After a change of drummer when Danny went off to university and following the departure of Newmarket Mark, bassist Max joined up after a stint as sound engineer at a Park Hotel gig.

Including pubs, beer festivals, Caterham Racing in Gatwick, village halls, town halls, weddings, Cambridge Junction and playing with Ed Sheeran twice, the band did its soul-and-funk thing for the next twelve years...
