title A Father's Day Pub Crawl, Ampersand Tap, Diss - 21st June 2026 intro We're off for another longish walk of about seven miles - although it feels longer - to the Crossways at Scole for a pint, followed by a couple more and a Burger Jam burger at the Ampersand Tap, and then a final pint at the Oaksmere, where we spend quality time watching a tiny ant haul a flower petal that's at least ten times bigger than it across the patio. The Boy Phil accompanies us for the walk - which seeing as it includes three seperate pubs is officially a "crawl" - whilst Isobel meets us at Ampersand for lunch and a zero beer. Before that, Jules is over for a couple of nights, and directs Fred and Oak as they prune the birch tree in the patio area. imgp0925 There's a brooding sunset over the side field imgp0933 Fred's got the loppers out on the birch tree imgp0934 Oak carries off the prunings imgp0935 Harry on the path to Warren Hills imgp0937 Phil's not really dressed for the nettles imgp0940 We're on Scole Bridge imgp0944 Harry does a sort-of pull up at Scole Pocket Park imgp0947 Harry takes a photo of some giant hollyhocks imgp0948 Fred and Phil on the road to the Crossways imgp0949 In the Crossways' beer garden imgp0950 A comedy floating crocodile head in the pond imgp0951 The Boy Phil looks at a vintage Land Rover imgp0952 The lads on the path to Dark Lane imgp0953 Outside Diss Business Centre imgp0955 Fred returns with a Burger Jam menu imgp0957 Conversation in the Ampersand Tap imgp0958 The wild path behind the church in Stuston imgp0961 The Oaksmere's walled garden imgp0962 A nice example of Salvia "Hot Lips" imgp0965 Fred at the Oaksmere imgp0967 Tudor chimneys and a 21st-century roof imgp0971 A tiny ant hauls a flower petal across the patio
