title A Bus Trip to Wells Next the Sea, Norfolk - 28th May 2026 intro It's Day Two of the birthday weekend at the Red Lion in Cromer, and we get the CH1 Coast Hopper bus over to Wells Next the Sea for a look around as well as another trip on the 1959 Leyland Tiger bus which the does the round-trips to the beach and back. Then, we wander back on the CH1 with a stop-off at the Fishing Boat in East Runton - the one with the nice "secret" beer garden - for a couple of pints. After that, we round out the evening with Fish and Chips from No.1 chippy on the cliff top above the pier. imgp8962 Cromer Pier early in the morning imgp8964 The Red Lion Hotel and Tucker Street in Cromer imgp8965 A fishing boat with a cloud of seagulls imgp8969 The awesome bar of the Red Lion imgp8972 We're on the Coast Hopper bus imgp8974 Jicklings Yard in Wells Next The Sea imgp8976 A pub chef hauls spuds around imgp8977 Crabbers on Beach Road imgp8978 More crabbing action in Wells Next the Sea imgp8979 Boats on the East Fleet estuary imgp8981 A George Rex post box on Staithe Street imgp8983 Walsingham And Son hardware on Staithe Street imgp8984 A grumpy gargoyle watches the tourists imgp8986 The granary building in Wells imgp8987 The tide is out on East Fleet estuary imgp8989 The 1959 Leyland Tiger is doing the rounds again imgp8991 It's fairly busy on Wells beach imgp8992 A red-and-white striped former sea buoy imgp8995 The Leyland Tiger arrives at the beach end imgp8999 Isobel outside John's Rock Shop imgp9004 A very pretty bus stop near Stiffkey imgp9008 Cows are out on the salt marshes imgp9012 The Coast Hopper party bus is fairly full imgp9014 A field of red poppies imgp9016 The Weybourne village sign imgp9017 The remains of Weybourne Priory imgp9018 A much more modern church: St. Andrew's Methodist imgp9035 Butterflies in the beer garden of the Fishing Boat imgp9045 Isobel returns from a mission to find beer imgp9046 On High Street in East Runton imgp9047 A closed-up coffee shop in East Runton imgp9048 The CH1 bus rolls into Cromer imgp9049 Another George Rex postbox imgp9050 An antiques/bric-a-brac market on Prince of Wales imgp9051 The mad 1970s extenion on Le Moon imgp9052 We wander up New Street imgp9053 An ice-cream-licking cow on New Street imgp9054 The roofs and chimney stacks of Cromer imgp9055 The back door of Hotel de Paris imgp9058 Looking up Tucker Street to the Red Lion imgp9060 The grand staircase of the Red Lion Hotel imgp9062 An old wrought-iron Red Lion sign imgp9063 Coloured glass in the hotel windows imgp9064 It's all very pink by an ice-cream shop imgp9065 We get fish and chips at No. 1 imgp9067 Looking up at the Red Lion from the promenade imgp9069 Isobel looks out over the promenade wall imgp9072 One of many Fordson Major tractors on the sea front imgp9073 A tractor on a hill imgp9076 More tractors near the pier imgp9080 A view from the cliff top imgp9082 Back in the bar of the Red Lion
