title The Golden Boys in New Milton, Hampshire - 17th January 2026 intro It's a rare alignment of planets as Phil's over from the US for a few days to sort some stuff out, Hamish is on one of the few weeks a year when he's not on holiday, Sean's around in New Milton and Nosher's not currently down with a kidney infection, so Sean sorts us all out to be in New Milton at the same time. Nosher gets down by train and starts off early with a beer in the Hourglass craft pub near the station, after which Sean joins up for a few more. The next morning, we meet up with Hamish and Jane for breakfast at the Daisy Tea Garden at Setley Ridge garden centre near Brockenhurst. Then Nosher and Sean head over to Lymington for a walk around town and a browse through the Saturday market, after which we drive over to Keyhaven for a short walk. On Saturday evening, Phil's arrived from the US and meets us, plus Hannah, Hamish and Phil's brother Chris, in the excellent Blossom Chinese Restaurant on Old Milton Road. After that, it's time for a few games of snooker in the Conservative Club on Station Road. imgp5992 Class 90 90004, former City of Chelmsford imgp5995 Wooden stumps in the estuary at Manningtree imgp5999 Back at Waterloo station imgp6002 Low sun on buildings near Waterloo Station imgp6006 Phone messaging ennui at Southampton Station imgp6011 Platform 2 at New Milton Station imgp6012 Sean in the Hourglass pub in New Milton imgp6013 The mean streets of New Milton imgp6014 We're back in the Hourglass micro pub imgp6018 Sean and Hamish in the Daisy café imgp6020 Jane and Nosher in the café imgp6025 Hamish nicks the camera for a selfie imgp6026 We walk back through Setley Ridge Garden Centre imgp6030 Blue sky behind St. Thomas in Lymington imgp6031 The 1960 former post Office in Lymington imgp6034 "F The Gov", apparently imgp6035 A bakery stall on Lymington Market imgp6037 More market stalls on Lymington Saturday Market imgp6039 Quay Hill in Lymington imgp6040 The King's Head at the top of Quay Hill imgp6041 Quay Street in Lymington imgp6045 Swans pootle about at the quay imgp6047 Sacks of shellfish are hauled up imgp6049 The quay outside the Ship Inn imgp6051 Boats in the marina at Lymington imgp6052 Sculls head off under the railway bridge imgp6054 Sean's on his phone again imgp6057 A back alley off Lymington's High Street imgp6058 The remains of a Victorian shop sign on a wall imgp6059 Looking up the High Street to St. Thomas imgp6063 A random second-hand tool sale imgp6065 Bright paddle boards and canoes at Keyhaven imgp6067 It's clear all the way to Yarmouth Isle of Wight imgp6068 Sun on the river at Keyhaven imgp6074 Frothing water at the sluice gate imgp6075 Sean on Lower Pennington Lane imgp6078 Walkers on Hurst Spit imgp6084 Derelict petrol station on High Street in Milford imgp6085 A derelict diesel pump at a derelict petrol station imgp6090 We drive up Meadow Way in Barton on Sea imgp6091 Barton Court Avenue in Barton on Sea imgp6093 The Westcliffe Buildings on Seaward Avenue imgp6095 A view to Hengistbury Head imgp6098 Dog walkers on the beach at Highcliffe imgp6102 Bournemouth is in the distance imgp6105 The river at Mudeford imgp6108 Hamish and Phil in Blossom's Chinese restaurant img-20260118-wa0003 The owner does a group photo img-20260118-wa0008 Hannah and Sean in Blossom's imgp6113 Hamish plays a shot imgp6114 Phil cues up a shot imgp6117 Nosher considers a next move imgp6123 Chris, Sean and Phil in the Conservative Club imgp6126 Hamish cues up imgp6133 Sean, Phil and Hamish imgp6138 There's a black ball teetering over a pocket imgp6140 Phil's got the extensions on imgp6143 Chris heads off in the Hamish-mobile imgp6144 Apparently controversial signs on a shop imgp6147 Sean and Chris in Bernice's lounge
