title Thorpe Abbots with Mick the Brick, and the GSB at Pulham - 13th September 2025 intro Mick the Brick is off to the 100th Bomb Group Museum at Thorpe Abbots and offers to give Nosher a lift, so we spend a couple of hours poking around before a drink and an Eccles cake in the café. It's quite surprising how busy it is given that it's a Wednesday morning, as there's at least one pre-booked tour group and the control tower is almost standing-room only for a bit. The following weekend, the Gislingham Silver Band is once again playing at the Pulham Market carnival, where it's a bit windy but generally nice, but we finish with only minutes before it starts raining. As we're playing, Isobel borrows the camera and gets a few photos. imgp4275 There's a nice model of the base in a glass box imgp4277 Mick the Brick looks at stuff imgp4280 We chat to one of the volunteers imgp4281 The last remaining bit of the perimeter track imgp4284 We're on the roof of the control tower imgp4285 Mick in the control tower imgp4287 A big TA on the roof of the control tower imgp4288 It's surprisingly busy at the museum imgp4289 Some dude's got all the gear on imgp4291 A stained-glass 8th Airforce insignia imgp4292 Thorpe Abbots' original control tower imgp4294 A grand house in Dickleburgh imgp4296 The GSB gets ready to play imgp4298 The Gislingham Silver Band in a marquee imgp4302 Terry on bass drum imgp4308 An unprecedented six cornets in action imgp4316 Prizes are announced for the floats imgp4317 Fancy dress in the crowds imgp4320 Archie's doing the Treasure Island game again imgp4321 There's more prize-giving imgp4329 The scene on Pulham Market Green imgp4330 A Christmas-themed float is a bit out of season imgp4331 Sam keeps an eye on the gazebo imgp4334 A nice old lorry from Saxlingham Thorpe imgp4337 Someone's got an owl out imgp4338 The band after the gig imgp4342 Clouds gather over Pulham imgp4343 Isobel roams around
