title The Norfolk Coast Path and the Hoste Arms, Burnham Market - 24th May 2025 intro Isobel sorts out a near-Birthday treat of a night in the Hoste Arms in Burnham Market, in North-west Norfolk. As it's only the one night, we make the most of it by getting there early and then - after a quick look around the pretty town itself and a snack of delicatessen pork pie - heading out for a decent six-mile walk from Burnham to Brancaster Staithe, via a part of the Norfolk Coast Path. After a pint in the Jolly Sailor, we pick up the Coastliner "party bus" back to Burnham in time for a couple more beers in the bar before an excellent dinner. imgp2328 We head into Burnham Market for a look around imgp2329 Isobel wanders about imgp2330 There's a very thin building near the hotel imgp2331 We walk past a nice fishmonger and deli imgp2332 A nice cheese fridge in the upstairs deli imgp2333 It's busy on the green in Burnham Market imgp2335 The Burnham Market sign imgp2337 We look around for a bookshop selling OS maps imgp2339 The church of All Saints in Burnham Ulph imgp2340 A row of cottages in Burnham Overy imgp2341 A Ferguson TE120 and Fordson Major are up for sale imgp2343 The unusual Norman church of St. Clement imgp2344 A 15th-century painting of St. Christopher imgp2345 Isobel wanders the architecturally-curious church imgp2346 12th-century arcades are significantly splayed out imgp2350 Arcades on one side have been filled in imgp2352 The church was originally a cruciform shape imgp2353 A house with statue heads is up for sale imgp2356 Burnham Overy Mill on the River Burn imgp2357 A view of Burnham Overy Mill and the millpond imgp2360 Burnham Overy's Tower Windmill imgp2362 A load of charity walkers head off on The Drove imgp2364 Burnham Overy's windmill from across the marshes imgp2365 We head off towards the Norfolk Coast Path imgp2367 A view of Burnham Overy Staithe imgp2368 More charity walkers head off towards Wells imgp2369 A derelict barge near Brancaster Staithe imgp2370 Isobel considers a very derelict boat imgp2373 Discarded machinery, and old sheds at Brancaster imgp2374 We walk through a boatyard in Brancaster Staithe imgp2375 A derelict Lynn-registered fishing boat imgp2376 Isobel gets the beers in at the Jolly Sailor imgp2378 We check the Coastliner bus timetable imgp2380 The bar of the Jolly Sailor in Brancaster Staithe imgp2382 The Jolly Sailor as seen from the bus stop imgp2387 The bar of the Hoste Arms imgp2388 Isobel returns with more beer imgp2390 Leather armchairs in the upstairs lounge imgp2391 We hang out in the upstairs lounge at the Hoste imgp2392 The restaurant where we'd had dinner imgp2394 Isobel has finished checking out imgp2395 The Hoste Arms hotel imgp2396 Mass has finished in the Catholic church in town imgp2397 Flint cottages and pink roses imgp2398 The church of St. Mary, Burnham Westgate imgp2403 The Victorian-restored nave of St. Mary imgp2405 Morning in Burnham Market imgp2406 The war memorial on the green
