title A Walk to the Hoxne Swan, and the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook - 6th April 2025 intro Fred's off to his Suffolk Youth Wind Band residential, which this year as moved from Framlingham College to the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook, a few miles south of Ipswich. The school was built in the 1930s in order to re-locate the original school, which had been founded in Greenwich in 1712. Later on, we head off for another pub walk, this time to the Swan in Hoxne. In order to make it a bit shorter than that usual ten miles or so, we first cycle up to the village hall and leave our bikes there. imgp1227 Fred gets his stuff out of the car imgp1230 Fred heads off to his residential imgp1233 The Suffolk Youth Orchestra is in another building imgp1235 More fancy buildings and the end of the chapel imgp1237 A figurehead on the bow of a ship imgp1240 A view of the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook imgp1244 On the parade ground at the school imgp1246 The Orwell Bridge outside Ipswich imgp1247 A creek heads into the River Orwell imgp1250 The Orwell Bridge imgp1252 Looking into the sun and up the River Orwell imgp1255 Isobel looks at the flowers in the square garden imgp1257 Harry on Brome Street imgp1258 There's a small plastic bike stuck in a tree imgp1263 Isobel and Harry in the trees near Hoxne imgp1264 Harry looks back imgp1265 Isobel checks out the menu in the Hoxne Swan imgp1266 Isobel and Harry in the Hoxne Swan imgp1271 Harry's got some funky sunglasses on imgp1273 The Swan has some impressive oak floorboards imgp1276 A little Blue Tit keeps pecking at the window imgp1278 Harry heads off out of the door for a bit imgp1281 Harry reads some of his books imgp1283 A K6 phonebox in Hoxne imgp1284 Back on the road imgp1286 Harry goes the long way round to avoid a kiss imgp1287 We're nearly back on the Oakley Road imgp1291 Some kind of fritillary butterfly imgp1293 Isobel and Harry in Brome Street imgp1294 The Brome Alms Houses imgp1296 Brome and Oakley's milennium village sign imgp1297 We collect our bikes from the village hall
