title St. Stephen's Day in Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland - 26th December 2024 intro It's St. Stephen's Day - aka Boxing Day - in Monkstown, and Isobel's off down to Seapoint to meet up with Meagan and have a quick dip in the sea. After warming up in a café we then meet up with Noddy, who's bought his dog Maude this time, so we go for a dog walk out on the mudflats at Williamstown, followed by a swift Guinness at Conway's in Blackrock. The next day, we're off to Dublin city so the boys can burn some Christmas money at the Lego shop on Grafton Street, and after pizza at Milano's, we're off to the airport where we discover just after we get there that the flight's delayed by at least 90 minutes. This eventually turns into about three hours, a delay made worse by the fact that it's late and so everything's closed. We finally get home at about 4.30 in the morning. imgp8892 It's busy down at Seapoint Martello tower imgp8894 There are a lot of dogs out for walks imgp8896 Harry's got his grump on as Isobel meets Meagan imgp8901 Someone wanders down the road in a gold Dryrobe imgp8910 It's misty down at Seapoint imgp8913 Lots of swimmers bob around in the sea imgp8921 Harry walks up Trafalgar Lane imgp8922 Meagan and Isobel walk down Monkstown Road imgp8924 A house is reclaimed by foliage imgp8925 Goggins in the mist imgp8926 The Spar on Monkstown Crescent imgp8930 Harry is all ennui in Café du Journal imgp8931 Sinéad O'Connor looks down from the wall imgp8933 Café du Journal in Monkstown imgp8934 Isobel and Meagan in the café imgp8936 Extreme Christmas decorations in Monkstown imgp8938 Isobel and Harry on Monkstown Farm imgp8940 We flake out in Da Gorls' lounge for a while imgp8942 A magpie steals something imgp8945 Noddy has appeared with Maude the Doge imgp8946 It's busy in the kitchen imgp8952 Fred and Harry with Maude imgp8958 Maude runs around as we walk on the mudflats imgp8961 Fred lobs something for the dog imgp8964 Noddy flings some seaweed around imgp8969 Evelyn and Da Wheeze outside Insomnia in Blackrock imgp8971 Da Gorls have stopped for a coffee imgp8974 Isobel sits down in Blackrock imgp8975 Noddy walks Maude around imgp8978 Maude and Isobel in Conway's Bar, Blackrock imgp8982 Conway's in Blackrock imgp8984 Noddy, Maude, and some Guinness imgp8985 No bins, except where there are bins imgp8986 Idrone Lane, and the back of the old Breffni imgp8990 Isobel, Jen Mac and Jen's dad in McKenna's imgp8991 Frascati Road in Blackrock imgp8995 Horse Show House and Madigan Square Garden imgp8998 We walk up Leinster Street in Dublin imgp8999 A decorated traffic light cabinet imgp9000 Hidden Dublin, behind an opened roller shutter imgp9001 More painted street cabinets imgp9002 The top of Nassau Street imgp9004 Tuxedo Cat paints the Mona Lisa in the Lego shop imgp9005 A cool Lego Jaws set imgp9006 Harry points at a Lego set imgp9008 Fred looks at boxes of Star Wars stuff imgp9011 Harry's found the Ninjago section imgp9013 Fred gets a box of pick'n'mix Lego imgp9017 The boys with their purchases on Grafton Street imgp9018 Looking up Grafton Street in Dublin imgp9021 Jack Nicholson on Grafton Street imgp9024 The buskers Keywest on the top of Grafton Street imgp9026 St. Stephen's shopping arcade imgp9027 Fred checks stuff out in a record shop imgp9029 Fred's found a squishy Minecraft pumpkin imgp9030 Fred models a very sparkly blue hat imgp9033 Keywest play to the crowds on Grafton Street imgp9035 An assistant holds up some merchandise imgp9045 A street-level view of Keywest imgp9046 Evelyn and Isobel wander past the Gaiety Theatre imgp9048 A guitarist plays Ain't no Sunshine imgp9050 Dublin street life imgp9051 George's Street Arcade in Dublin imgp9052 Fred looks back as we walk the streets of Dublin imgp9054 The boys in Milano's on Dawson Street imgp9058 A pizzaolo assembles pizzas in Milano imgp9059 Our giant pizza arrives imgp9062 There's a giant golden gorilla next to Milano imgp9063 The gang on Dawson Street imgp9066 Interesting details on a lampost imgp9070 A tourist buggy waits on St. Stephen's Green imgp9074 A crowded Grafton Street imgp9076 The guitar player has moved onto Grafton Street imgp9078 The busker is still playing Ain't no Sunshine imgp9087 Another crowd scene imgp9092 Two young lads play trad on Grafton Street imgp9093 Giant mistletoe on Weir and Sons imgp9094 Back at the painted street cabinets imgp9095 Fred's got his own namesake café imgp9096 There's a game of Yahtzee in the lounge imgp9099 Fred waits in the departure lounge at Dublin Airport imgp9101 Everything's closed at Dublin Airport imgp9102 A deserted travelator to the departure gates imgp9103 We're picked up by buses at Stansted Airport imgp9104 The loneliness of the abandoned suitcase imgp9106 The boys catch up on present opening imgp9108 Harry's got a Thing
