title Diss Heritage Transport Festival and the GSB at Wickham Skeith - 22nd September 2024 intro We're driving back from a trip to Bressingham when Isobel spots an online reference to the Diss Heritage Transport Festival, so we divert off the main road to find the whole town centre closed off and full of classic cars. That's worth a stop so we park up and spend a while looking around at a large turn out of classic motors, from the 1930s right up to a few from the mid 1990s. The day before, The Gislingham Silver Band is playing for a church fundraiser at St. Andrew in Wickham Skeith, and the week or so before that Isobel cashes in a voucher for a very nice cream tea at the Oaksmere. imgp0001 It's a fancy cream tea in the Oaksmere imgp6677 Wickham Skeith's church of St. Andrew imgp6678 Giant marrows outside the church imgp6680 Fred checks out the set list imgp6683 Terry looks around as the band set up imgp6684 A choir from 1907 imgp6685 David heads off after the gig imgp0004 The old Wallace King gets some asbestos removed imgp0014 There's a nice old car in Morrisons car park imgp0016 A classic motor on St. Nicholas Street imgp0018 More classic cars by the Happy Palace imgp0020 A cute little Fiat 500 imgp0022 Petrol pumps outside the Cornhall imgp0023 Isobel stands on St. Nicholas Street imgp0024 Some geezers discuss an old car imgp0026 A massive radio plays tunes at Diss Ironworks imgp0027 More pumps on St. Nicholas Street imgp0031 A cool old Volkswagen imgp0033 There's a green Daimler outside the town hall imgp0034 Morgan roadsters imgp0036 A lone car on Pump Hill imgp0037 A 1985 Ford Escort imgp0039 There's a UXB re-enactment outside the old bank imgp0042 A vintage Ford Mustang cruises up Pump Hill imgp0046 The market place is crowded with cars imgp0050 A yellow Triump Spitfire 1500 imgp0051 The fading remains of Thomas Cook imgp0052 A very vintage motorbike outside the kebab shop imgp0053 The lads of Diss Bike Club on Mere Street imgp0055 A lovely Rolls Royce drives up Mere Street imgp0059 Classic cars in the market place imgp0061 Another view of Diss market place imgp0062 A bright red Fiat 126 by the post office imgp0066 There's some dancing by the museum imgp0071 A dude in a stripey blazer with a classic VW van imgp0072 A 1960s Austin lorry imgp0075 A three-carburettor straight-six TR6 engine imgp0080 The Citizens' Advice Bureau looks derelict
