title LowFest at the Low House, Laxfield, Suffolk - 26th May 2024 intro It's Nosher's birthday so as a treat Isobel volunteers to drive us and The Boy Phil over to the famous Low House in Laxfield - a pub which dates from the 1500s and which still has its 19th-century configuration, with no bar and beer served straight from the barrel. There's also a beer festival on, so there is even more beer straight from the barrel out in the beer garden - where Gaz and Sandie are already stationed - so we hang out with them for an afternoon of beer and music in the sun. Even the threatended rain fails to seriously materialise. imgp2185 Laxfield's museum and guildhall imgp2186 All Saints church in Laxfield imgp2187 The "other pub" - the Royal Oak imgp2189 Cottage-garden daisies imgp2191 The legendary Low House - the King's Head imgp2192 19th century settles in the Low House imgp2193 Looking down to the cellar - there's no bar imgp2194 Another of the Low Houses' snug rooms imgp2198 Gaz gets the beers in imgp2200 Gaz and Sandie at the beer festival imgp2202 Isobel returns from a food order imgp2203 Gaz puts in a birthday request to the singer imgp2204 It's wholly dark over at Will's mother's imgp2205 Dark clouds threaten to move in imgp2207 We shift our bench under a gazebo imgp2211 There's quite a good turn out imgp2214 Isobel slurps some Ghost Ship 0.5% imgp2222 A small dog looks up hopefully imgp2228 Another doge licks its chops
