title Christmas Music with the GSB, Gislingham, Suffolk - 15th December 2023 intro One of the Gislingham Silver Band's favourite gigs of the year - carols at the Yaxley Cherry Tree - is off this year on account of the pub being closed, so the band decide to host its own at the village hall in Gislingham. It's a free event, so we have no idea how many people might come along, and it's also bring-your-own food and drinks. We're thinking half full would be a good turnout, but as it happens it's a full house, and some of the audience have laid in quite impressive table-top picnics. The band plays Christmas music and carols for a couple of hours, and Fred gets to do his "Walking in the Air" solo on flute, to a big round of applause. Later on, Isobel and Harry are up at Occold village hall for an all-day pantomime rehearsal. imgp9868 Some of the band get in early to set tables up imgp9869 The band sets up imgp9871 The raffle is set up imgp9873 Terry chats to Mark, the drummer imgp9874 Most of the band is in place imgp9876 Andy conducts the audience in a verse of a carol imgp9878 Isobel raises a glass from a distance imgp9880 Harry's on his phone imgp9882 There's a very good turnout imgp9885 Fred roams around imgp9890 Terry roams around handing chocolates out imgp9894 Terry's got a tub of quality street imgp9896 Terry reaches Isobel's table imgp9899 Some of the audience have impressive picnics going imgp9900 Andy does the raffle imgp9903 Chairs and tables are quickly packed up imgp9960 There's some dancing practice at the panto imgp9963 Fred plays along with a panto number imgp9964 Harry's on his phone again imgp9989 The cast go through New York imgp9993 Fred and Grace mess around on the stage imgp0002 Harry's in a state of ennui again
