title A Giant Load on the A140, Yaxley, Suffolk - 22nd October 2023 intro There's much excitement as news of a giant oversized load making its way from Ipswich Docks to the new gas power station on Eye Airfield appears on local Facetwit pages. As it's nearly time to go on holiday, we're not doing much so decide to drive over to the A140 near Yaxley and hang around on the roundabout. As usual, the predicted time of appearance is somewhat optimistic, and we're there over an hour before it appears, but it's interesting enough seeing something with about 100 wheels trundle around with something very large on it. imgp7980 Isobel and Harry stand on a traffic island imgp7982 Some dude hangs off a road-closure sign imgp7986 Gaz appears on his bike, and joins us for a bit imgp7988 Isobel and Gaz look down the A140 imgp7989 The village waits as nothing is still happening imgp7990 Harry perches on a crash barrier imgp7993 Gaz is on his phone imgp7995 The moon in a paper sky imgp7997 The rozzers reinforce the closure imgp7998 There's a ripple of excitement as stuff happens imgp8006 There's a good view from the roundabout imgp8012 The police have reinforcements imgp8015 The oversized load finally appears imgp8029 The main long load takes the wrong side of the road imgp8033 Negotiating the roundabout at Yaxley imgp8037 A 96-wheel bogey imgp8048 The long load moves off the roundabout imgp8055 The power station generator heads off to the airfield
