title The BSCC at Rushall, South Lopham and Redgrave - 25th May 2023 intro A large turnout, at least for recent years, of the remains of the Brome Swan Cycle Club heads out on an epic three-pub trip, starting out at White Horse at South Lopham - for the first time in at least a decade - followed by the Cross Keys in Redgrave, and finally the Cherry Tree at Yaxley. The week before, there's another BSCC ride out to the Half Moon at Rushall - another pub that hadn't been visited in probably 15 years, but which turns out to be well worth the ride, with three ales on. In between the two trips, there's the annual plant sale at Brome Village Hall, and there's a very purple field of chives in flower, near Crossing Road on the edge of Palgrave. imgp0063 Gaz and Phil outside the Half Moon in Rushall imgp0066 The Community-run Half Moon pub imgp0067 The main street through Rushall imgp0070 A thatcher's trademark on a roof - the arched cat imgp0071 There's a dodgy repair to a dormer window imgp0073 Gaz at the bar of the Half Moon imgp0075 The nice bar/restaurant area imgp0076 A couple of horse-and-carts head off imgp0078 The Half Moon has a good range of rainbow gins on imgp0080 Shiny steel fermentation tanks at Ampersand imgp0083 We play Yahtzee after tea in the Oaksmere imgp0088 A field of purple near Crossing Road in Palgrave imgp0091 Chives in full purple bloom imgp0094 Fred sells off a few of our peppers and chillis imgp0096 Isobel chats at the Brome plant sale imgp0099 Harry and Isobel chat to the neighbours imgp3529 Nosher's next big garden project commences imgp3531 We have Spanish tapas for tea imgp3533 Molly - Tiny Cat - sleeps with her tongue out imgp3536 There's a Victoria post box at Diss Station imgp3537 Meg's behind the bar at the Yaxley Cherry Tree imgp0001 The Boy Phil in the White Horse at South Lopham imgp0004 Phil shows Paul something on his phone imgp0006 We head off to Redgrave imgp0008 The South Lopham White Horse imgp0010 Isobel unlocks her bike imgp0011 Houses on the A1066 Thetford Road imgp0013 Gaz parks his bike at the Cross Keys imgp0014 Gaz and The Boy Phil imgp0015 We hang outside at the Cross Keys in Redgrave imgp0016 It's a nice evening for a wee in a field
