title The Guinness Storehouse Tour, St. James's Gate, Dublin, Ireland - 17th August 2021 intro We're off to the western side of Dublin to do the Guinness Storehouse Tour, which disappointingly doesn't actually feature any of the brewery or factory at all, but is still worth it for the view of the city from the Gravity Bar perched on the very top of the building. Then on the following morning, after a walk down to Seapoint and back, we're on the fast ferry back to Holyhead and an almost non-stop drive back to Suffolk. Before that though, we're out for dinner at the awesome Ruchii Indian restaurant in Blackrock, thanks to babysitting from Da Gorls, and round the night off with a drink in the Breffni, where Jen Mac makes an appearance. imgc7854 A view of the street from the restaurant window imgc7856 Isobel peruses the menu imgc7857 Not your average poppadums and dips imgc7858 We're early so the restaurant is fairly quiet imgc7859 Isobel gets a "something of everything" dish imgc7860 The restaurant does excellent Espresso Martinis imgc7864 The wavy glass of the Breffni in Blackrock imgc7866 Isobel and Jen in the Breffni imgc7870 Jen shows off some photos out on the street imgc7871 We walk back to Jen's car imgc7872 Central Café takeaway imgc7873 Isobel gives Jen a hug imgp9238 1960s office building on Crane Street imgp9242 Old railway tracks in the cobbles imgp9244 One of the Guinness factory gates imgp9246 A Guinness toucan giuves Harry a headache imgp9247 The queue outside the Storehouse imgp9248 More tracks in the cobbles imgp9251 A derelict building on Grand Canal Place imgp9252 The Gravity Bar from Grand Canal Place imgp9253 Harry in a café on Echlin Street imgp9255 The Guinness Medical Department imgp9256 A horse goes for a walk imgp9258 Inside the Storehouse imgp9260 A waterfall imgp9262 There's a cool "infinite bubble" display imgp9266 More infinite bubbles imgp9267 An old copper vessel imgp9268 Guinness Tasting Time clock imgp9270 Fred hangs on to some railings imgp9274 A museum of Guinness transport imgp9275 An old shunting diesel loco imgp9276 On an escalator imgp9280 An ostrich with its head in the floor imgp9281 Fred holds up a girder imgp9283 Harry holds the girder up with a finger imgp9284 Ironwork near the top of the building imgp9287 Looking over Dublin, with the spike on the horizon imgp9288 A view over the factory imgp9291 In the Gravity Bar imgp9292 Harry and Fred play with Bakugan imgp9293 Another factory view imgp9296 Looking down on Grand Canal Place imgp9297 Harry, Fred and Isobel in the Gravity Bar imgp9298 Guinness with an umbrella imgp9300 Nosher has a West Indies Porter imgp9304 Isobel and the boys in the bar imgp9305 Isobel looks out over the city imgp9308 Fred checks his phone imgp9313 Another view of Dublin imgp9314 We're back downstairs in the Guinness shop imgp9316 Back out on the street imgp9318 Isobel sorts a taxi out imgp9324 We head off for a walk to Seapoint imgp9325 Graffiti on a derelict wall imgp9326 More Monkstown Farm graffiti imgp9330 Fred comes out of the Spar near Seapoint imgp9332 A DART train at Seapoint station imgp9334 The view from Seapoint imgp9335 Isobel, Harry and Louise look out to sea imgp9336 There's a windsurfer in Dublin Bay imgp9339 Harry on the beach imgp9340 Isobel and Da Wheeze imgp9341 A huge pine tree with herons in it imgp9342 Harry by the massive tree trunk imgp9344 Cars queue for the ferry at Dublin Port imgp9345 On the car deck imgp9346 A view of the Winkies imgp9347 Dublin Port imgp9348 Poolbeg generating station imgp9349 Fred scores a pizza - for a ferry, it's not bad imgp9351 The boys get ready to leave imgp9352 It's time to return to the car imgp9354 A blur of action imgp9357 Our mezzanine car deck is lowered imgp9360 We look for the toilets at a services on the A56
