title A Trip to Grandma J's, Spreyton, Devon - 2nd June 2021 intro Nosher gets a lift down to Grandma J's in Spreyton in order to pick up some furniture from the gaff and drive it back to Suffolk in a rented van. This means, on the way down, a rare-enough opportunity to be a passenger and take the odd photo of random things like the M25 and Stonehenge. Once in Spreyton, and without a car, there's not much to do other than visit the legendary Tom Cobley tavern and undertake a mini beer festival for one by working through five of the pub's six beers over the course of an evening. The next day, we visit Mother at her care home in Bovey Tracey, then haul her out for a mildly-upsetting look around the house she can now barely remember. imgp7520 Ingatestone Dry Cleaners imgp7521 Ingatestone High Street imgp7523 There's plenty of traffic on the M25 imgp7527 Bell Common tunnel on the M25 imgp7529 Light at the end of the tunnel imgp7531 The motorway has a 60 limit on the go imgp7532 The tripple-stacked bridges over the M25 imgp7533 The long-lived Give Peas a Chance graffiti is gone imgp7536 The traffic grinds to a stop again imgp7539 Enigmatic Helch graffiti imgp7540 We stop off at Fleet Services on the M3 imgp7542 The M3 experiences a temporary queue imgp7546 The link bridge over the M3 imgp7547 Tape on the floor attempts some Covid separation imgp7548 There's a big protest banner on the A303 imgp7551 Stonehenge as seen from the nearby A303 imgp7552 Stonehenge is diminished by the traffic imgp7555 Visitors walk around Stonehenge imgp7558 Another tumulus near Stonehenge imgp7560 A herd of cows near the A303 imgp7562 A nice tree tunnel on the A303 imgp7566 A K6 phonebox defibillator near Throwleigh imgp7567 The road to Throwleigh imgp7568 The Providence Chapel imgp7569 Devon fields imgp7571 The Tom Cobley beer garden is bliss imgp7573 Roger the landlord chats to some regulars imgp7575 Roger behind the Cobley's bar imgp7579 Spreyton's "high street" imgp7581 The awesome Tom Cobley Tavern in Spreyton imgp7585 Narrow roads at Sandy Park imgp7587 Moretonhamstead in Devon imgp7588 The gardens of Mother's care home imgp7590 Sis shows a phone photo in the "library" imgp7591 Curious hut in Bovey Tracey imgp7592 Mother potters around the dining room imgp7593 We have a nice lunch of random stuff from the shop imgp7594 Sis and Mother, on the patio imgp7596 Sis shows off more photos imgp7600 Cows in a field on the way back to Bovey imgp7604 An old building on the Thompson's site at Bovey imgp7607 Thompson's of Devon has cleared out imgp7609 The Thompson's offices and remaining workshops imgp7610 Bovey Tracey, near the Co-op imgp7611 Dartmoor Garages - open as usual imgp7613 Mother outside her home imgp7617 Matt and Sis stride over to the Cobley imgp7619 Matt does the hand-sanitiser thing imgp7620 imgp7622 The top of the hill at Chapel Park imgp7623 Patterns on the ceiling from a lampshade imgp7624 Mother's lounge imgp7625 The view from an upstairs bedroom imgp7627 The outside is redecorated imgp7628 The view from the garden imgp7629 Mother's patio and garden imgp7630 The dining room is packed away imgp7631 Packing boxes in the lounge imgp7632 A last look at the kitchen imgp7634 A small corner remains untouched for now imgp7636 Back on the road, at Countess Services on the A303
