title A Walk Around Redgrave and Lopham Fen, Redgrave, Suffolk - 3rd January 2021 intro It's the first day of relative freedom since we were "track and traced" and had to isolate for ten days, so we go out for a walk around Redgrave and Lopham Fen - the source of the River Waveney on the Norfolk/Suffolk border - in order to relieve the Cabin Fever. It's challenging work as the area is heavily waterlogged, and although Nosher has waterproof walking boots on, they're only waterproof up the point where the socks start, and the standing water is deep in places. imgp5481 Isobel orders some hot chocolates and snacks imgp5485 Fred rumages around imgp5487 Isobel waits in a mask, at CovidCon 4 imgp5490 Fred's got a milk-froth moustache imgp5497 Isobel out on the watery path imgp5498 There's not much difference between path and fen imgp5502 Thick dead grasses in the fen imgp5507 We negotiate a particularly-flooded section imgp5510 Fred navigates the flooded path imgp5511 A big fallen tree imgp5513 Fred takes a photo of the tree's rings imgp5518 Harry hangs on a gate imgp5526 There's rain on the horizon over Redgrave Fen imgp5527 Harry stops to poke a bush imgp5535 A gate in the fen imgp5538 Harry grabs a ball of dark earth imgp5539 Further along on the dark path imgp5545 Harry leans on a sign imgp5546 We head back to the visitor's centre imgp5552 Some blue tits do their thing on a feeder imgp5558 Fred pretends to be 2 foot tall imgp5560 Harry takes some photos imgc6966 Harry takes a photo of the famberly imgp5561 Isobel finds something amusing imgc6972 Harry's photo of Fred in the car imgp5562 Fred gets some pears in a depleted Morrisons imgp5564 Fred, Isobel and Harry outside Morrisons imgp5565 Isobel on Morrisons car park
