title A SwiftKey Memorial Service, Covent Garden, London - 13th March 2020 intro It's the memorial service for SwiftKey colleague Simon Wood, who died at the end of July 2019. The memorial is held at the St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden in London - otherwise known as the "Actors' Church" - where a large group from the choir that Simon was in, the Wimbledon Choral Society, is in attendance and sings three numbers, two which were commisioned specially for Simon's Requiem for Cancer fundraisers. As the group from SwiftKey is right in front of the choir, we get the full immersive surround-sound experience, which is something special. It's also clear, wandering around Covent Garden for a bit before the service, that things are quieter than usual, thanks to the growing threat from the Coronavirus. One of the street entertainers ends up performing to just a single small boy. Afterwards, we head over for tea at the Oaksmere. imgp9937 Flooded fields by the old mill near Claydon imgp9939 The burned-down Fison warehouse looms into view imgp9942 The wrecked remains of the Fison's North Warehouse imgp9945 Concrete and destroyed Victorian ironwork imgp9946 All that remains of the Fison's North Warehouse imgp9947 Graffiti on a brick building imgp9952 Blurred lines imgp9958 Part of the derelict Wardle-Storey factory imgp9963 Tatty plastic sheeting on a derelict building imgp9970 Mudflats at Brantham imgp9975 The Manningtree sewage works imgp9976 The derelict water tower in Manningtree imgp9979 Class 37 Pegasus at Manningtree imgp9981 The station at Manningtree imgp9984 A side street near Covent Garden tube station imgp9985 Looking back up James Street imgp9986 St Paul's Church imgp9987 Covent Garden "piazza" imgp9988 Covent Garden's Apple Market imgp9991 The limbo dancer has a chat imgp9992 The Punch and Judy pub in Covent Garden imgp9994 Inside the old market imgp9997 The front of St. Paul's church imgp9998 An art market in Covent Garden imgp9999 Funky designs on the Jubilee Market Hall imgp0001 A big clock on Southampton Street imgp0002 Trade is slow at the VyTa café imgp0003 Closed down shops, including Patisserie Valerie imgp0005 Inside the Actors' Church of St. Paul's imgp0006 The congragation builds up imgp0007 The congregation files out after the service imgp0009 St. Paul's Church imgp0010 Outside the church imgp0011 Some dude reads a book imgp0012 The path to the church, contra jour imgp0014 The back of St. Paul's Church, from Bedford Street imgp0016 A couple of K6 phoneboxes in Covent Garden imgp0017 Covent Garden tube station imgp0020 Inside Covent Garden tube imgp0021 Down on the platform imgp0022 A tube train heads off to Cockfosters imgp0028 People appear from nowhere to board the train imgp0029 We head over to the Oaksmere for tea imgp0034 Harry and Fred play Pokémon
