title HMS Belfast and the South Bank, Southwark, London - 17th February 2020 intro The day after the Harry Potter tour, as we're vaguely in the vicinity of London, we get the train in from Radlett to do some tourist stuff. We're a bit undecided on a plan, but settle on the Imperial War Museum's HMS Belfast on the banks of the Thames near London Bridge. It's a good day out poking around in the WWII ship, followed by a bit of roaming around near Nosher's old work manor of Southwark, and an obligatory visit to Pizza Express. imgc5824 Fred gets a photo of people and a taxi cab imgc5834 Fred gets a nice photo of stacked tenements imgp9538 Our breakfast room for the morning imgp9540 The Mill's restaurant imgp9542 The boys eat cereal imgp9545 The M25 roars away right next door imgp9547 M25 signs next to the Bricket Wood Beafeater imgp9548 Harry feeds the ducks imgp9550 Fred gets some duck food imgp9553 Harry gets more food for a hopeful duck imgp9556 The boys are surrounded by ducks imgp9560 Harry gets close to the ducks imgp9564 Walking back to the hotel imgp9565 Fred and the gang in the coridoors imgp9566 A shed in the car park imgp9567 The boys run around in Radlett station car park imgp9569 Graffiti at Radlett station imgp9570 On the platform at Radlett imgp9571 An obsolete railway mile post showing 15ΒΌ miles imgp9572 Welcome to Radlett's graffiti imgp9573 Trackside buildings imgp9574 Semi-derelict railway buildings imgp9575 Some dude waits at Radlett Station imgp9578 The pedestrian footbridge to all platforms imgp9579 The tracks through Radlett imgp9581 Isobel and Harry on the train imgp9585 Some trackside graffiti imgp9587 Graffiti on a bridge in the form of Scrabble imgp9588 Vintage Class 43 locos imgp9590 Another colourful stretch of graffiti imgp9592 Graffiti on a container building imgp9594 The Wobbly Bridge, and the Walkie Talkie imgp9596 A view of London from Blackfriar station imgp9598 A grim view from the train imgp9599 Take Courage wall advert near London Bridge imgp9600 Steps into the new London Bridge station imgp9601 The gang on the escalators at London Bridge imgp9602 The gang roam around the new London Bridge station imgp9604 Fancy cast-iron atrium, in the Victorian style imgp9605 Buildings in East Cheap imgp9606 Harry and Fred imgp9607 HMS Belfast imgp9612 Tower Bridge imgp9614 Harry peers into the Thames imgp9616 The Tower of London imgp9617 Harry and Fred on the deck of HMS Belfast imgp9620 Fred roams the ship imgp9621 A huge long torpedo imgp9623 The ship's entertainment radio room imgp9625 Fred scopes for photos to take imgp9626 The bakery imgp9629 The engine room is just a tangle of pipes imgp9632 Lots of wheel valves everywhere imgp9638 Shiny copper pipework imgp9646 Fred tries a balance game imgp9647 Harry and Isobel do some dancing imgp9655 Isobel reads the news imgp9656 Fred in his 1940s Arctic sailor's gear imgp9657 Isobel and Fred imgp9658 Harry finds some amusing glasses imgp9661 The shell room imgp9663 Back on the decks of HMS Belfast imgp9664 The Walkie Talkie again imgp9666 Isobel waits in the Turret Experience imgp9670 The Belfast's foreward 6" guns imgp9673 A rainbow briefly appears over HMS Belfast imgp9678 Wet stones after a brief downpour imgp9680 The Tower, HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge in one shot imgp9682 More wet flagstones imgp9683 Bits of London are beginning to look like New York imgp9685 Fred on The Queen's Walk imgp9686 The Great Fire of London Monument is almost hidden imgp9687 Isobel on wet stone steps imgp9688 Some funky modern architecture imgp9690 Fred looks up to the Shard near London Bridge imgp9691 10Foot graffiti is everywhere imgp9694 Harry and Isobel in Pizza Express imgp9698 Isobel and Fred play cards imgp9699 Underneath the arches imgp9701 Fred sits on a funky sculpted wooden bench imgp9702 Brutalist architecture imgp9704 A dodgy-looking snooker/pool club by London Bridge imgp9707 The Shard imgp9710 A rush-hour exit corridor at London Bridge Station imgp9712 We're back roaming around the new London Bridge imgp9714 The boys get some magazines in WHSmith imgp9715 Nice wooden ceiling at London Bridge imgp9717 Some natural light sneaks in imgp9720 Harry and Isobel on the escalator imgp9721 A South-eastern train pulls in imgp9722 The boys read magazines as we wait for our train imgp9723 A view of St Paul's and Borough Market imgp9729 Urban graffiti, and St. Paul's Cathedral imgp9734 Fred has a look of Ennui on the train imgp9740 Queen of th[e air] wall art imgp9743 Three vintage Class 43 locos (InterCity 125s) imgp9744 A Rans tag, also common around Liverpool Street imgp9751 Piling off the train at Radlett imgp9753 Class 43 43059 roars through Radlett
