title A Boat Trip on the River, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire - 14th September 2019 intro We're in Stratford upon Avon for the last-ever reunion of the 69th Entry into RAF Halton's Number 1 School of Technical Training, from which Grandad and his mates graduated in the July of 1954, some 65 years ago. Before the main event - dinner at the Stratford Manor hotel - there's a boat trip which has been organised for some of the ex-Brats, although The G-Unit's recollection of the details is somewhat vague. After the short-ish boat trip, we wander down the road to see Shakespeare's grave, however there's a wedding on so we can only mooch around outside the church. It doesn't matter too much, as the weather is spot on. Before all of that, there's a bit of London randomness, a BSCC ride to Star Wing Brewery, and a stunt plane is throwing itself around the skies above the Oaksmere. imgc4546 There's a strange blue ball in Sheldon Square imgc4547 A close-up of the mystery blue ball imgc4550 Ken wanders across Praed Street by Peking-Seoul imgc4551 A building has foliage growing out of it imgc4552 Vlad with his Peking-Seoul lunch imgc4555 The stunt plane flies around the skies of Suffolk imgc4560 More biplane stunt action with smoke trail imgc4570 BT OpenReach has performed a stellar repair job imgc4571 Phil, Paul and Suey outside Star Wing imgc4572 Gaz gives it the hairy eyeball in the taproom imgc4574 We visit the shop at Kettering Services imgc4575 Grandad roams around imgp5491 Fred carries his Lego box through reception imgp5492 Harry gets the Lego out imgp5498 In the hotel bar imgp5499 The boys play Lego outside the hotel imgp5502 We wait to cross the road by a vivid flower bed imgp5504 More flowers, and the remains of a defunct BHS shop imgp5505 Businesses are not shy about the Shakespeare thing imgp5507 Harry and Fred face off with a couple of swans imgp5510 It's all Fountain of Salmacis by Hermaphroditus imgp5516 Grandad meets another RAF buddy imgp5520 Grandad's name isn't on the list imgp5522 A longboat pootles about imgp5529 On the boat imgp5531 There's green gunge stuck to the canal lock imgp5536 There's a stray leg dangling down from the roof imgp5539 Crowds and swans watch the departing boat imgp5542 Another pleasure boat has a flotilla of swans imgp5543 A swan does something weird with its beak and tongue imgp5546 The rebuilt RSC theatre, disliked by Edward Elgar imgp5551 There are lots of rowers on the river imgp5555 Someone contemplates the River Avon (or River River) imgp5556 Rowing boats bob about on the Avon imgp5559 Holy Trinity Church from the river imgp5568 The heavily-reinforced Colin P Witter canal lock imgp5569 These swans have attitude imgp5577 There's a massive swan frenzy imgp5580 Former industrial buildings on Canal Basin imgp5581 Thousands of feathers float on the water imgp5595 A strangely-crowned K6 phone box on Waterside imgp5598 Buildings on the corner of Sheep Street and Waterside imgp5600 Fred walks past the "Dirty Duck" pub imgp5601 Harry looks for something imgp5602 One of the unique streetlamps on Waterside imgp5604 Fred takes a photo of a streetlight on Southern Lane imgp5607 Another view of Holy Trinity Church imgp5610 Harry pokes at some old graffiti imgp5614 Murals in a park imgp5615 Fred wanders around near "The Other Place" imgp5616 Fred takes photos of the street lanterns imgp5621 Shakespear references are everywhere imgp5623 We stop at a café so the G-Unit can get a coffee imgp5624 The Jennifer May tour boat imgp5632 Fred waves a book around in The Works imgp5634 Grandad, Fred and Isobel in The Works imgp5635 Harry is surrounded by piles of boxes and stuff imgp5638 Some young lads do a Genesis number by the river imgp5639 A guy on stilts waves at a cyclist imgp5644 Grandad wanders through the car park imgp5645 Harry and Grandad are blurs by the car
