title Florence Court and a Postcard from Sligo, Fermanagh and Sligo, Ireland - 21st August 2019 intro We head back out into County Fermanagh and Florencecourt (the town) to visit Florence Court, the plantation-era house which even includes some artifacts from the actual William of Orange. Sadly, there's a bit of a fascist no-photography policy in the house itself, so there aren't any. Then, later in the day, Nosher drops Isobel and the boys off at a swimming pool on the outskirts of Sligo, and whilst they're splashing around drives into the town itself for a look around. Later on, after we've had dinner back in Manorhamilton at the Ósta Restaurant, we head into town with Noddy for a couple beers at Connolly's - one of the truly old-school bars around, run by the same people for at least fourty years and set in what amounts to someone's front room with a bar and a few extra shelves to put peanuts, beer bottles and other random drinks on. imgp4956 The woods at Florence Court imgp4957 Isobel closes a wooden gate imgp4958 Fred roams around with Camera B imgp4959 The ornamental gardens are a bit on the soggy side imgp4961 Harry stands by a Brigham four-in-hand buggy imgp4962 Isobel roams around the courtyard imgp4966 The boys play chess in the Captain's room imgp4967 Isobel reads the papers as the boys play chess imgp4968 Fred looks about imgp4969 A window out onto the gardens imgc4318 A teddy bear on an armchair imgp4970 We get an introduction to the house from the guide imgp4971 Walking along a collonaded path imgp4972 A pair of cannon point out into the grounds imgp4973 The front lawns imgc4325 Fred's feet on top of the Ha-ha wall imgp4974 We start the tour at the front door imgp4977 Back in the courtyard imgp4978 In the National Trust shop imgp4979 The Rainbow Ballroom in Glenfarne imgp4984 Impressive views of waterfalls on the Sligo road imgp4986 Fred looks out over the valley imgp4988 The ruins of Sligo Abbey imgp4989 Sligo Abbey's tower imgp4997 A small stone detail imgp5000 Stone columns imgp5001 More stone carvings in Sligo Abbey imgp5002 A derelict and very wonky house imgp5003 A Sligo back street imgp5004 A weeping angel imgp5005 A boarded up shop is an advert for an arts festival imgp5006 It's hectic on O'Connell Street, Sligo imgp5007 A dude plays the banjo on a street corner imgp5010 O'Connell Street in Sligo imgp5012 An empty shop with a hint of 1920's tiling imgp5013 More cool old tiles imgp5014 The 1901 Post Office on Lower Knox Street imgp5015 The Garavogue River imgp5016 The Knox Street Bridge imgp5019 The Glasshouse, and a bit of the Yeats Building imgp5020 Another bridge over the Garavogue on Bridge Street imgp5021 Bridge Street imgp5022 Pigeon feature imgp5023 The footbridge over the Garavogue imgp5024 Some backstreet graffiti imgp5025 The wreck of a former night club imgp5026 A statue of Jesus on a wall imgp5027 Some fine carvings on a church imgp5028 A malevolent-looking bishop leers from a wall imgp5029 A building is being demolished at Clayton Hotel imgp5033 Destroyed building and a pile of fibreglass imgp5036 We're on the stairs to nowhere imgp5038 The unused car park at W8 is open for some reason imgp5040 Harry roams around imgp5041 Teapot Lane in Manorhamilton imgp5042 Some old carved stone sign imgp5044 Fred oozes ennui out of the pizza-shop window imgp5045 Apache Pizza in Manorhamilton imgp5046 We see Noddy walking down Main Street imgc4328 Harry - Gappy McGap-Face - and Isobel in Ósta imgc4329 Ósta's restaurant imgc4330 The old sculpture centre and off-licence imgc4332 A modern toilet on an old drained floor imgc4334 Noddy's on tin whistle in Connolly's Bar imgc4335 It's very retro in Connolly's imgc4337 Isobel and Noddy at the bar imgc4338 Outside the legend that is Connolly's imgc4339 Another Manorhamilton pub - The Milestone imgc4342 Jak's Casino doesn't look like it's very happening imgc4343 The Proclamation of the Irish Republic on a wall imgc4345 The mystery of McMorrow Meats imgc4346 Isobel and Noddy head back to W8
