title The BSCC at North Lopham, and the GSB Mayor's Parade, Eye, Suffolk - 23rd June 2019 intro Nosher and Fred are on their second march with the Gislingham Silver Band, this time for the Mayor-Making parade in Eye. In the town hall afterwards is spotted a copy of the Charter of Eye - Suffolk's oldest document - the original of which Nosher actually handled back in around 1998, when first digitising it for the Suffolk County Council website. It was signed by Herbert Losinga, the bishop of Norwich, in 1119 - 900 years ago and just 53 years after the Norman Conquest. Later, the pipes across the side field are buried, and then the BSCC splinter group rides out on a 26 mile (ish) spin to North Lopham. imgc3586 Harry takes an interest in playing the piano imgc3587 Harry plays some tunes on piano imgc3588 The band forms up on Lambseth Street imgc3591 Harry and the G-Unit on Lambseth Street in Eye imgc3592 Harry takes his Beavers scarf off imgc3595 Bruce comes to start the band off imgc3599 The band heads off up Lambseth Street imgc3600 Fred and Nosher in the band imgc3603 The GSB heads onto Broad Street imgc3609 There's a gathering outside the town hall imgc3611 Nosher looks over, with cornet in hand imgc3617 The new mayor walks around imgc3623 Terry the drum major outside the church imgc3624 Fred hangs around with the band imgc3625 The rest of the parade turns up imgc3627 Fred with his music imgc3628 Isobel and Harry wander off imgc3635 Julian with his shiny bass imgc3644 Heading up Castle Street imgc3646 Terry leads the band imgc3647 The band heads off back into Eye imgc3649 Nosher and Fred imgc3655 The mayor again imgc3656 Passing the Bank arts centre imgc3657 The band outside Caféye imgc3660 The GSB marches past the old White Lion pub imgc3662 The GSB passes Cocoa Mama chocolate shop imgc3665 There's a post-march mingling in the town hall imgc3666 The town hall has a new roof imgc3667 The former mayor of Eye chats imgc3668 The new mayor mingles imgc3669 A copy of the Charter of Eye, dating from 1119 imgc3671 The trenching machine arrives to bury the water main under ground imgc3672 The pipe is lifted into the air imgc3675 The pipe is checked as it's buried imgc3676 The BSCC arrives at the North Lopham King's Head imgc3678 Marticle and Isobel chat, as Phil reads the paper imgc3679 Paul at the bar imgc3680 There's an interesting cactus in the gents' bogs imgc3681 Paul and The Boy Phil head back to the bikes imgc3682 Gaz gets his helmet on imgc3683 We saddle up for the ride back
