title Gislingham Silver Band and the Duck Race, The Pennings, Eye, Suffolk - 29th September 2018 intro Fred and Nosher decided to join the Gislingham Silver (Training) Band - the oldest Silver Band in Suffolk, apparently - just before the start of the summer holidays. A few practices later, and it's our first gig, at the Scout's "Duck Race", down at the Pennings in Eye. As well as appearances from both the training and senior band, there's the annual rubber duck race, along the slowly-ambling River Dove. imgp5121 Harry and Fred in the Scout's tent imgp5122 A chunky dog stands around imgp5123 Fred has a go at the Nerf-gun-based Tin Can Alley imgp5125 Fred wins big on the sweet tombola imgp5128 This bulldog has a serious drool problem imgp5134 Fred does a bit of archery imgp5138 Harry flings a few arrows too imgp5139 The scene down at the Pennings imgp5142 The Gislingham Silver Band plays a set imgp5143 Fred checks his flute out imgp5148 Fred sets his music up imgp5149 The training band get ready imgp5150 The senior band mill around imgp5152 Helen gets some ice cream imgp5153 Ducks are coralled at the start line imgp5156 The duck starting line imgp5162 All the ducks are ready to launch imgp5171 The mayor counts down imgp5175 The ducks are released imgp5183 A bit of weed is pulled up imgp5189 The ducks are encouraged down stream imgp5194 The ducks are assisted up the river imgp5195 A few left-over ducks on the grass imgp5215 Maurice Hammond's Harvard flies around overhead imgp5218 The Harvard has a passenger in tow imgp5219 Fred does a spot of football imgp5224 The ducks are collected up at the end of the "race" imgp5232 A paddling pool is tipped out imgp5238 Harry tries out Tin Can Alley imgp5245 The winners of the race are about to be announced imgp5253 Duck-race prizes are announced imgp5255 There's some confusion over a name imgp5259 The GSB senior band is still playing imgp5264 Adrian - the band leader - gets a giant teddy bear imgp5266_01 The giant teddy bear does some conducting
