title The Tom Cobley and Castle Drogo, Spreyton and Drewsteignton, Devon - 11th August 2016 intro We spend a day at Castle Drogo, a few miles away from Grandma J's at Drewsteignton. After a wander around the castle, designed by Arts-and-Crafts god Edward Lutyens and in the process of a major £multi-million renovation, we meet up with Sis and Matt and hang out on the croquet pitch for a while. Later, we haul Grandma J out for a nosh-up at the legendary Tob Cobley Tavern in Spreyton. imgc3955 Matt roams around Sainsbury's in Exeter imgp5416 Mother in the garden imgp5418 Walking around down the road imgp5419 Fred runs around on the Castle Drogo's drive imgp5420 Castle Drogo imgp5421 Bits of the castle are being cleaned and repaired imgp5422 An "access all areas" tour group gets underway imgp5424 Cleaned stones and scaffolding imgp5429 Fred plays a bit of piano imgp5431 A large screen imgp5433 A window down a flight of stairs imgp5435 An impressive chandelier imgp5436 A contemporary tapestry shows forms of afterlife imgp5437 Fred lights up an Edward Lutyens dolls house imgp5439 The Jeff Nettleship Automated Teas Maid from 1952 imgp5440 Fred leans on the kitchen table imgp5441 Three brass taps in a row imgp5442 In the many corridors of Drogo imgp5445 Visiting one of the bedrooms imgp5452 Time to relax on beanbags imgp5455 Mother looks at the ceiling imgp5464 A huge shower/bath imgp5467 A cherubim light fitting imgp5470 In the main hall imgp5473 Mother and Harry imgp5475 A sign from the company that paid for the castle imgp5476 Isobel and Mother imgp5483 Mother and Isobel in the garden imgp5484 The formal gardens of Drogo imgp5486 Harry looks grumpy again imgp5487 Isobel checks the map to find the croquet lawn imgp5489 Fred rolls about imgp5492 Fred does an egg-and-spoon race imgp5493 Fred's steady with the egg imgp5495 Fred gets some hula hoops out imgp5507 Fred does more hooping imgp5512 Hanging out on the bench imgp5527 Fred hurls himself through moving hula-hoops imgp5530 Harly is even more energetic imgp5549 Fred plays a spot of tennis imgc3956 Grandma J and Harry on the Chapel Park hill imgc3959 Fred helps Grandma J with the menu imgc3960 Fred and Mother do menus imgc3962 Isobel looks at menus too imgc3964 In the Tom Cobley's bar imgc3965 Harry and Grandma J imgc3967 Harry in the Cobley restaurant imgc3969 Isobel and Harry say hello to a massive hairy dog imgc3970 Harry shouts at Roger, before poking his beard imgc3972 Harry tests out Roger's beard imgc3974 The boys in Grandma J's lounge imgc3978 A view from Mother's garden imgc3982 The boys mess around in the garden imgc3984 Harry on the hill imgc3986 We walk into Spreyton village imgc3987 We visit Spreyton Pottery
