title Closing Down: A Late January Miscellany, Diss, Norfolk - 31st January 2015 intro There's a sort of closing-down and dereliction theme going on, which suits the end-of-January weather. Firstly, Eye police station is once more up for sale, with the plot available for re-development so the existing buildings will no doubt get demolished. Also in Eye, there's a photo of one of our favourite eateries - Lindsay House - which has closed due to retirement. There's also a glimpse of the stripey ex-Virgin train - sometimes known as the Pretendolino - that Greater Anglia has leased for two years at a cost of nearly £1 million, as it pulls in to Diss station. Also in Diss, a derelict infant school is discovered hiding behind Mavery House, and we have lunch in Amandines for the first time in ages. imgc0590 Some glum-looking dogs are tied to a lampost imgc0595 Gabes messes around in Morissons' baby-change room imgc0596 Fred gurns in the changing room imgc0597 The boys are a picture of ennui as they wait imgc0599 There's a derelict van outside Little Movers imgc0600 Lindsay House Restaurant in Eye imgc0602 The Eye police station on Victoria Hill imgc0603 The old officer's quarters next to the cop shop imgc0604 Another view of the police station imgc0606 The other officer's quarters imgc0611 Eye Police Station and notice board imgc0614 The boys run down the Cornwallis's avenue imgc0622 Millie Cat thinks she's people imgc0624 Boris - Stripey Cat - close up imgc0626 Boris does his ear thing imgc0627 Recent graffiti on the wall near Liverpool Street imgc0629 Greater Anglia's £1 million Pretendolino imgc0631 The derelict infants school in Diss imgc0633 Derelict outbuildings near Mavery House imgc0634 The old infants school imgc0636 A stack of pallets imgc0637 The outbuildings again imgc0638 Broken roofs imgc0643 Harry roams around imgc0644 The old Curry's Ltd mosaic porch sign imgc0645 St. Nicholas Street in Diss is closed imgc0646 Harry in Amandines imgc0647 Harry plays with one of his favourite baby toys imgc0649 Fred holds up some sort of Playmobil Ninja
