title (Very) Long Train (Not) Running, Stowmarket, Suffolk - 21st October 2014 intro It's another day of hell on the train to work in London, as the already-delayed 08:17 which has sort-of become the 08:47 gets held up before even leaving Diss because some knobwit manages to drive in to the railway bridge over Victoria Road. Then, just outside Stowmarket, the original fault that caused the delay leaving Norwich re-appears and the train is officially announced as dead. The actual 08:47, stuck behind, then gets the job of joining up to form a single 21-unit train - half a kilometre long - and push the broken set up the line to Stowmarket, where both trains are helpfully terminated. Three trains full people people cram on to a single set to continue on to London, or bail out and return up the line to Diss and Norwich, about one-and-a-half hours late. imgc0002 The melty wax house on Southwark Street imgc0003 The wax house has started melting imgc0004 Upstairs is melting into down imgc0005 Another view of the melting wax house imgc0007 The seedy-looking Jazz Convenience Store imgc0008 Nosher's bike gets marked by the Met Police imgc0009 Bike marking in Guy's Hospital quad imgc0010 Dodgy back-street leading from Guy's hospital imgc0012 The delayed 08:47 rolls up to push us along imgc0013 The two trains are joined up imgc0014 Looking down to the front of the train imgc0015 The other train's driver imgc0016 The 08:47's driver jumps up into the DVT imgc0018 The two guards mill around as the trains are joined longtrain The longest train in Suffolk, from one end to the other imgc0022 Class 57 57303 rumbles by imgc0023 57303 could do with a bit of a clean imgc0024 Class 57 57011 forms the second part of a pair imgc0026 Just to add to the misery, it starts lashing imgc0030 Water drips dow the carriages imgc0031 Thank you for travelling with us.
