title A Few Days in Spreyton, Devon - 26th October 2013 intro It's time to visit Fred and Harry's "Grandma J" down in Spreyton, near Exeter in Devon. It's a bit of a late start so we break the journey up with a stop at a becoming-something-of-a-tradition Premier Inn, this time just outside Taunton (we don't get here until gone 11:30pm and it would be another hour to Spreyton). We get to our final destination just in time for the coming of the "Great Wind" of 2013, which actually turns out to be not much of the sort, although it does provide a lot of stuff for Grandma J to fret about. Whilst there, there's a chance to have a couple of beers at the Tom Cobley pub, visit Plymouth's National Aquarium and for the boys to generally hang out with their grandmother for a while. imgp4716 It's midnight as the gang gets ready for bed imgp4719 Isobel shows Harry the way to bed imgp4721 Fred and Harry run off down the corridor imgp4723 Isobel gives Harry a lift to breakfast imgp4725 Harry stuffs his face with cereal imgp4726 Harry pokes a finger in his ear, as he is wont to do imgp4727 Isobel has a coffee imgp4729 Harry in his Skellington suit imgp4730 Harry climbs the stairs imgp4732 It's morning, and the boys roam around imgp4735 The boys watch telly imgp4737 The boys open the door to reception imgp4738 In Spreyton, there's a war raging over "dog po" imgp4741 Mother and the gang do Saturday lunch imgp4744 Harry gets Isobel to blow on a hot potato imgp4745 Mother potters around in the kitchen imgp4746 Fred shows off a Lego creation imgp4747 Fred builds Lego in the hall imgp4748 Isobel in the Tom Cobley imgp4750 Isobel waits for more beer imgp4751 A Galilean thermometer imgp4754 One of Fred's Lego dudes imgp4756 Fishy stained glass imgp4760 In Grandma J's lounge imgp4761 The view from Mother's garden imgp4764 Fred and Grandma J outside the aquarium imgp4765 Fred and Gabes look in to a rock pool imgp4769 Funky flat fish floundering imgp4772 Anemones wave their tentacles around imgp4774 An octopus squirms around imgp4776 More swimming fish imgp4779 Another spotty flatfish imgp4784 A delicate jellyfish floats about imgp4788 Yellow fish tails imgp4796 A Clownfish in anemones imgp4802 Stripey spiky fish imgp4804 A spotty Moray Eel - Grumpy Fish imgp4809 Another very spotty fish imgp4812 Isobel in the gift shop imgp4813 Isobel and Mother in the shop imgp4815 Fred and Grandma imgp4816 Outside the National Aquarium in Plymouth imgp4818 Sutton harbour, Barbican imgp4819 Pleasure cruisers have replaced fishing boats imgp4820 Grandma J and Isobel scope the menu in The Ship imgp4822 Mother and Fred in The Ship Inn imgp4824 What used to be the Barbican Wine Lodge imgp4825 Barbican back street and bins imgp4826 A pair of folorn-looking K6 phone boxes imgp4827 Wet cobbles on the Barbican imgp4828 Mother, Isobel and Fred on the Barbican imgp4829 Time for ice-cream imgp4831 Fred steps up for ice cream imgp4833 Isobel gets a coffee imgp4835 A cliché photo of "Smeaton's Willy" imgp4837 A graffiti'd shelter on Plymouth Hoe imgp4838 The stripey but derelict-looking Tinside Lido imgp4840 Tinside Lido imgp4843 Harry eats fish fingers imgp4844 Nosher's 1986 pic of the old Harrow Vineyard imgp4854 A sheep imgp4855 A faint rainbow imgp4857 A rainbow over Spreyton imgp4861 Harry looks shifty imgp4863 Fred does some drawing imgp4866 Fred draws on the dining-room table imgp4874 Sheep through a rainy window imgp4877 Fred stumps down an autumn-ey path imgp4881 A light has been laid over in case of storm imgp4882 An organically-shaped thatched cottage imgp4883 An Austin A35 drives through Spreyton imgp4884 Fred outside the Tom Cobley imgp4885 We look glumly at the Tom Cobley, which isn't open imgp4887 The path to Chapel Park imgp4892 Harry looks cheeky at services outside Birmingham imgp4893 Fred's got a box on his head imgp4895 Harry wriggles on a changing table
