It's the time of year for the annual BSCC bike ride - once again to the village of Lenham in Kent. Rain and wind threaten on the day of the ride, so the idea of taking Fred the Head around on the back of the bike is abandoned. Which is a shame, as, although it's windy, we don't end up being bothered by the wet stuff and complete a 32 mile ride with several pub stops without meteorological incident (it's even nicely sunny for several hours). All is not lost, though, as Carmen and Isobel meet us for lunch, after which we decide to do a splinter-group stop (involving staying exactly where we are for several more pints) before heading back to the Dog and Bear in Lenham for dinner.
