The Brome Swan Cycling Club do Thaxted, Essex - 10th May 2008
The Brome Swan does its annual cycle-club weekend away, this year to the pretty town of Thaxted, near Saffron Walden in Essex. Both the weather and the scenery are superb: the route takes us around about 28 miles (or 29 with unintended diversions) around the Essex countryside and via several pubs, which provide much-needed beer refreshment (especially as it's getting pretty hot by the afternoon). Isobel even pitches in to do the first half, leaving us at Finchingfield and returning back to Thaxted, whilst the rest of us press on up ever-steeper hills.
