title Easter in Dublin, Ireland - 21st March 2008 intro Seeing as Christmas was spent with Nosher's Sis in Devon, it's only fitting that the next major religious-based festival should be with Isobel's family in Blackrock, County Dublin. So we drive to Norwich to catch a flight to Dublin (the take-off is entertaining on account of the small plane and the very large wind), and head down for Easter. The weekend includes a trip to La Strada for some Italian, and a wander around Dublin's city centre for a couple of pints of Guinness. imgp5231 Passengers walk out to the plane imgp5232 The FlyBe Dash 8 on the apron at Norwich imgp5233 The FlyBe Dash 8 loads up on the tarmac imgp5235 A feathered wide-chord six-bladed properllor imgp5238 The strong winds blow parallel lines of spray imgp5242 The Irish coast imgp5243 The coast of County Dublin, on final approach imgp5246 A rainy view of Dublin Airport imgp5248 An Aer Lingus 737 on the ground at Dublin imgp5249 The plane disembarks on a cold and wet apron imgp5250 Noddy gets his hair straightened imgp5265 Evelyn reads a trashy magazine as Isobel has tea imgp5267 Noddy gets a make-over, with some champagne imgp5269 Louise has the nit comb out imgp5273 The final result of Noddy's hair-straightening dscf0821 Ev, Noddy and Jen in La Strada dscf0822 The night is more entertaining than it looks dscf0827 "El Patron" brings over some Sambucca dscf0829 A Dublin Bus steams through Blackrock dscf0831 The sign is not an instruction imgp5275 In the grounds of Tinity College imgp5277 Isobel and Louise stride across the cobbles imgp5278 Trinity College imgp5279 Down in Temple Bar imgp5280 "Fresh " graffiti imgp5281 Super-bright graffiti imgp5282 An outdoor book sale in Temple Bar imgp5283 Books for sale imgp5286 Regent Street, looking down to the Liffey imgp5290 "Wall of Fame" graffiti-cum-advertising imgp5291 We wander down to an outdoor market imgp5293 Outdoor market imgp5295 A car does a novel 1000-point turn imgp5296 Music posters imgp5298 A cool old sign: "Why go bald" imgp5299 The "Balkantours" shop isn't really appealing imgp5300 Walton's Music shop imgp5303 Music posters on the steps of Simon's Café imgp5304 Inside Simon's Café imgp5307 Louise looks bored imgp5310 Reading and waiting for something to happen imgp5311 The funky basement of Simon's Café imgp5317 Indoor market in Dublin imgp5320 More of the indoor market imgp5324 The flower stalls on Grafton Street imgp5326 Flower ladies imgp5327 Isobel gets a bunch of flowers imgp5328 A dude on a stool imgp5329 A glass grating on Grafton Street imgp5330 Back alley off Grafton Street, Dublin imgp5332 A rock memorial in the park imgp5334 The Gardai hassle a dude who's waving a guitar imgp5339 The park in Dublin imgp5342 A fire engine does fund-raising on Grafton Street imgp5343 The Dublin Fire Brigade engine imgp5344 Graffiti and torn fly-posters imgp5348 A basement staircase doubles as a rubbish bin imgp5353 In the Stag's Head bar imgp5354 The Stag's Head imgp5356 A neon sign imgp5359 Backdoor graffiti imgp5361 A Dublin back street imgp5362 The Trinity Barber Shop imgp5364 M J O'Neill's bar imgp5365 Isobel bumps into an old school friend imgp5366 The Molly Malone statue in Dublin imgp5368 A couple of workers do sod-all and watch tarmac set imgp5371 Isobel shakes paws with Oscar imgp5376 In Blackrock: "Make luv not war" imgp5378 Blackrock Market imgp5380 Isobel, Evelyn and Jen look at a cat in a petshop imgp5388 Isobel and Jen plus a school friend imgp5396 A discarded sandwich box in the departure lounge imgp5400 Dublin Bay and the Winkies imgp5407 Back in Norwich, after flying through a blizzard imgp5408 The empty baggage hall of Norwich Airport
