San Diego and Hollywood - 3rd March 2008
There is a bit of a round-up of San Diego miscellany here, from cruising around on the interstate to visiting ex-work's headquarters (to drop off and pick up Iz from work). There's also a beer in the Rock Bottom - the brewery/bar round the corner from the apartment - and a game of "stick". Finally, though, on the way back to the UK is a brief stop-off in Hollywood, Los Angeles. First stop is the site of some of the key scenes in the film "Rebel Without a Cause" - The Griffith Observatory, perched high in the Hollywood hills. As a bonus, it offers some great views over Los Angeles, and the famous "Hollywood" sign (which, to be honest, appears about 100-times smaller than it does on TV). From here, we wind down on to Sunset Boulevard and cruise up and down Hollywood Boulevard and Santa Monica, before following the latter to its eponymous destination on the coast. Sadly, we're just in time to miss the sunset on account of being inadvertently sucked on to the Pacific Coast Highway. Hey ho.
