title Fun With Bellows: Macro Photography, Brome, Suffolk - 13th May 2006 intro There was an interesting article in April's issue of the Pentax User Club magazine about doing "extreme macro" photography using bellows on a digital SLR, and it didn't take long before an original Pentax set appeared on eBay. Thus began a quest over a couple of separate days to seek out tiny things around the house and garden that would be interesting to photograph. However, "outside" was soon abandoned as the extreme close-ups and high magnifications, requiring ultra-fine focus adjustments, mean that the subject needs to be completely still - which wasn't easy on a windy day. img_2301 The set-up: the camera on ultra-low tripod imgp0096 A BVA glass valve imgp0099 A detail of a PCB imgp0103 Close-up of some quartz granite imgp0337 Work is delayed by a passing thunderstorm imgp0370 Tiny pine cones on the end of a pine tree imgp0383 An indicator bulb from a Mark 2 Astra at 3.5 volts imgp0391 The tip of a purple biro imgp0392 A bunch of 120-ohm resistors imgp0395 Lots of small PC screws imgp0396 Condensation in of a bottle of mineral water imgp0402 A close-up of the bulb filament imgp0407 Tiny text on a CD imgp0417 Pollen on a tiny flower's stamens imgp0420 The stem of a bindweed imgp0424 New leaves from a bit of sticky Bindweed imgp0429 Bubbles in a drink imgp0433 Bubbles in cranberry juice imgp0438 A collection of little bubbles in cranberry juice imgp0445 Miniature surface-mount resistors imgp0447 Pins from a dead 1.1GHz Intel Celeron processor imgp0458 Close-up of a special edition UK £2 coin imgp0492 Mushroom gills imgp0522 Ants mill around like, er, ants imgp0548 A housefly imgp0571 Some kind of beetle on a pane of glass imgp0973 A tiny unopended flower imgp0977 A sadly-dead bee imgp0979 Close up of computer ribbon cable imgp0981 Wiring at the base of a glass valve imgp0990 Drops of water on a hairy leaf imgp1005 Leaf cells imgp1008 A dandelion seed imgp1012 Some grass seeds
