Another 1940s Dance, Ellough Airfield, Beccles, Suffolk - 24th June 2005
Marc, Sue, DH, The Boy Phil, Billy Boy and Nosher camp out at the Shadingfield Fox, just up the road from the gig (despite the threat of torrential rain, á la Glastonbury). Nobody told Nosher to bring his bike, so after a moment of uncertainty, a couple of taxis are booked (well, actually it was supposed to be one 8-seater). Then it's up to the airfield to drink beer and listen to a big band play a heap of 40s (and some 50s) hits in a massive T2 hangar on the old airfield. The journey back is entertaining, as we somehow manage to cram 9 people into a standard car: 2 in the boot (trunk), 4 on the back seat and 3 in the front, and spend most of the journey back worried about rozzers. Of course, this being the UK and it being summer, it absolutely tips it down overnight, but at least it proves that the tents are waterproof. In the morning, after the obligatory fry-up, Bill nearly knackers himself bouncing around on a nearby trampoline...
