title A BSCC Splinter Group Camping Trip, Shottisham, Suffolk - 13th August 2004 intro The BSCC's "splinter group" does its annual camping trip, this year to St Margaret's Campsite in Shottisham near Woodbridge in Suffolk - possibly the world's most lackadaisically-run site, notwithstanding the owner eventually letting us off for pitching in the wrong field. This year was a gentler 30-odd-mile ride from Shottisham through Bawdsey, across the ferry to Felixstowe Ferry, through Walton, up to Woodbridge and back. As expected, various pubs were involved on the way. dcp_7443 The rules of the pub, 1786 style dcp_7444 Suey and Marc dcp_7445 Apple and Pippa dcp_7446 DH talks to the landlord, Ken, about Chain Home dcp_7447 Ninja M is armed with his comfort blankey dcp_7454 DH and a bottle of Leffe from a recent France trip dcp_7455 Suey, Jen and Bill dcp_7456 Marc flops out a massive packet... of biscuits dcp_7457 Marc hands the groin bisuits around dcp_7460 Marc shows of a partially-masticated biscuit dcp_7463 The next morning, it's mugs of tea for most dcp_7464 Bill's cooking something up dcp_7465 Apple peers over to check on the sausages dcp_7467 Apple goes for his bike dcp_7468 Outside the Ramsholt Arms, on the River Deben dcp_7469 The River Deben dcp_7470 The gang outside the Ramsholt Arms dcp_7471 The assembled group looks out over the river dcp_7472 A brief stop in Alderton dcp_7473 The Deben Ferry is summoned by bat dcp_7474 Apple waits around dcp_7475 Bill waves the bat to get the ferry dcp_7476 Boats on the river at Felixstowe Ferry dcp_7477 We await the ferry dcp_7479 Jen has a quick paddle dcp_7480 Suey writes her name in the sand dcp_7482 DH is stuck at the stern behind all the bikes dcp_7483 Apple, The Boy Phil and Suey dcp_7484 Bill and Ninja M dcp_7487 We pay the ferryman dcp_7488 Back on shore at Felixstowe Ferry dcp_7489 The Boy Phil dcp_7490 Ninja and Phil pish their bikes through a boatyard dcp_7491 Milling around outside the Ferry Boat Inn dcp_7492 Pippa, Jen and Suey inside the pub dcp_7493 Pip and Apple have a beer dcp_7494 The Boy Phil picks a flower off dcp_7496 Phil, Jon and Jen dcp_7498 We're off again towards Woodbridge dcp_7500 On the way to Walton we spot a load of tractors dcp_7501 More vintage tractors trundle by dcp_7503 Phil and DH dcp_7504 Pub-sign humour at the Half Moon, Walton dcp_7505 Marc, Suey and Bill in the Half Moon dcp_7506 Some regular freaks out dcp_7507 Pip and Apple dcp_7509 The gang in the Half Moon dcp_7510 Nosher plays a bit of piano dcp_7513 A pub car park somewhere dcp_7514 Suey and Bill are a bit big for the slide dcp_7517 In a beer garden dcp_7519 Marc flakes out for a bit dcp_7520 The very pretty Fox Inn at Newbourne dcp_7521 The pub called time, so we have to bugger off dcp_7523 A field of pumpkins dcp_7525 The Red Lion, on the edge of Martlesham dcp_7530 Nosher has another beer dcp_7531 Suey looks at caterpillars with a printer's loupe dcp_7533 The Wilford Bridge, on the edge of Woodbridge dcp_7534 The beer garden of the Wilford Bridge dcp_7535 Apple and Pip on the bridge over the Deben dcp_7536 We cycle past a huge field of lush green turf dcp_7540 Back at base: the Sorrel Horse dcp_7542 More beer in the evening dcp_7543 Carolyn comes along to join us dcp_7544 DH scopes out the menu dcp_7545 Claire from the pub comes to take our orders dcp_7548 Time for dinner dcp_7549 Marc shows off his finished crab dcp_7552 Bill has guffed again dcp_7553 The gang at dinner dcp_7555 Ken chats to Carolyn dcp_7557 Claire and Ken dcp_7558 Claire wakes Marc up with a big stick dcp_7560 Bill gets a plaster after a shredding from Bagheira dcp_7561 Pippa's picnic basket dcp_7562 Another morning, another camp fry up dcp_7563 Tent city dcp_7564 Apple lurks behind the tent
