Longview at Norwich Waterfront - 22nd June 2004

One of Nosher's favourite bands, Longview, do a gig in Norwich (Nosher went to their last appearance at the Arts Centre in June 2003, and the previous gig when they supported Easyworld at NAC). Despite the fact that no-one I asked seemed up for coming along too, Nosher went by himself and had a thoroughly good time. Longview played a superb set, including one of my favourite tracks "Falling for You". The support act, "The Upper Room", were excellent as well - time to spin down to "Revolution Records" in Diss to see if they've got anything out. Anyhoo, Longview's Rob McVey and the boys certainly know how to kick out some great indie rock, as well as some lovely melodic numbers that tug in all the right places. Apparently the crowd backing vox for "Falling for You" was the best ever: Nosher certainly had a good crack at providing some singing (and, in a fantasy flushed with recent backing vocals in the band I play in had been thinking on the way to the gig, whilst driving up the A11, how cool it would be to be asked in some sort of emergency situation to sing backing for real :-). Also, turning up about 1 hour before the gig kicked off meant that Nosher bagsied a really cool spot right at the front of the stage (Mosh pit!!). Mind you, the following photographs were taken somewhat furtively, on account of one of the security dudes who kept casting "the hairy eyeball" in the general direction of the part of the crowd that Nosher was in. Oh, and if ever there was a more gorgeous guitar than that copper-top Gibson Les Paul, I've yet to see it...
