title Lamma Island, Hong Kong, China - 20th August 2001 intro The last day-trip before returning to the UK is a trip to Lamma Island - not far from Hong Kong itself. We get the ferry to Yung Shue Wan on one side of the island, and trek across the hills in 35°C heat and 100% humidity to reach Sok Kwo Wan a few hours later, for a bit of a seafood feast at the "Lamma Hilton", one of several restaurants along the waterfront. The choice of restaurant was more due to the entertainment provided by the owner, who was touting for business from any hapless passer-by, rather than any informed choice. As it turned out though it did do good food. dcp_1027 Looking back from the ferry dcp_1028 The closest thing to a real Chinese Junk so far dcp_1029 Makeshift rafts dcp_1030 The pleasant little village of Yung Shue Wan dcp_1031 Yung Shue Wan dcp_1032 The leafy streets of Yung Shue Wan dcp_1033 A big scary statue dcp_1034 Incense pots and a shrine dcp_1035 A flight of steps dcp_1036 A random view of the village dcp_1038 Lots of swimmers bob about dcp_1039 On the beach dcp_1041 An entertaining use of English dcp_1042 Another shrine dcp_1043 DH considers the scenery dcp_1044 Walkers with umbrellas pass us by dcp_1046 A self-timer photo in a small pagoda in the hills dcp_1047 The pagoda dcp_1049 Looking down on the village of Sok Kwo Wan dcp_1052 Down on the mudflats dcp_1053 Inside the Lamma Hilton dcp_1056 The ferry at the pier dcp_1058 Nosher and DH dig into to a seafood-fest dcp_1061 A woman ferries herself around on a cardboard box dcp_1062 A view of the floating village dcp_1063 A man on the pier dcp_1064 The Lamma Hilton dcp_1067 Another view of the Lamma Hilton's tables
