title A Total Eclipse of the Sun, Hoo Meavy, Devon - 11th August 1999 intro Nosher does a lightning trip down to Devon to experience the only total eclipse of the sun in the UK, at least in this lifetime. There was even a telescope on hand with a custom internal webcam filming a back-projection, in an enclosed lightbox, but it was all no avail as the weather was - predictably - rubbish. Sis, step-sis Kim and Roy "Macca P" off of Suffolk County Council were there too, and at least there were a couple of commiseration trips to the nearby Royal Oak pub in Meavy to make up for it. But first, there are a couple of photos of The Sock up a tree. scan-120517-0001 The Sock up a tree scan-120517-0016 The Sock looks out scan-120517-0005 Outside the Royal Oak in Meavy scan-120517-0008 It's the full eclipse in the next-door field scan-120517-0006 Kim and Sis stomp up the road to Meavy scan-120517-0009 Heading off to the pub again scan-120517-0010 There's fairground stuff on Plymouth Hoe scan-120517-0011 Plymouth Hoe, looking to West Hoe and Devonport scan-120517-0012 A view towards Plymouth Polytechnic scan-120517-0013 Vans on Plymouth Hoe
