title Moving In, Brome, Suffolk - 10th April 1994 intro Nosher's bought a house a few miles up the road from the old rented pad in Stuston which is, crucially, much nearer the pub - the Swan Inn in Brome. The house, which hasn't been lived in for nearly a year, is a bit of a wreck and is also a bit of a gamble in the hope that some of the original timbers in the 18th-century part of the house have survived under all the covering ups and mangling done when an extension was added in 1958. Initial explorations in the lounge aren't promising, until it's discovered that the original frame is still present under a second layer of hardboard, but best of all that the inglenook fireplace is complete and intact, hiding as it is behind a 1950s glazed-tile fireplace. scan2023-02-04-0004 The lounge has been extensively covered up scan2023-02-04-0005 The 1950s fireplace and a gold-wallpapered nook scan2023-02-04-0023 The gold lamé wallpaper in the "bar" scan2023-02-04-0006 The entrance hall and staircase scan2023-02-04-0009 Kitchen, pantry and Parkray fireplace scan2023-02-04-0010 The extensively-fitted kitchen scan2023-02-04-0008 The upstairs landing scan2023-02-04-0007 Upstairs in the smallest bedroom scan2023-02-04-0011 The second bedroom, in a 1980s scheme scan2023-02-04-0012 Another view of the chequerboard bedroom scan2023-02-04-0013 Looking back along the landing scan2023-02-04-0017 The fairly-gruesome bathroom scan2023-02-04-0018 The main bedroom, in the 1958 part of the house scan2023-02-04-0014 The wilderness that is the front garden scan2023-02-04-0015 The corner of the front garden scan2023-02-04-0016 A view of the house and the old asbestos garage scan2023-02-04-0019 The back garden is just as much a wilderness scan2023-02-04-0020 Another view of the back of the house scan2023-02-04-0021 The old house, round the back scan2023-02-04-0022 The 1958 extension, in brick scan2023-02-04-0024 The original inglenook fireplace is found scan2023-02-04-0025 Nosher gets carried away pulling bricks out
