title Uni: Night and Day on the Barbican, Plymouth, Devon - 1st May 1986 intro A night on the Barbican - the old part of Plymouth that wasn't bombed during World War II - often included a session in the Barbican Wine Lodge, a venue that frequently had live trad jazz going on. After that, it would be a compulsory stop off at Cap'n Jasper's, the legendary tea-and-burger emporium near the fish market that was run by John and Dee Dudley. The Barbican would be a popular stop-off during the day too, and there are some photos of the sunken fishing boat that was allegedly scuppered (for the insurance, naturally) in Sutton Harbour, and an exciting photo of the A374 Exeter Street, on the long walk back to the Cromwell Road flat. scan-111130-0001 Angela Crann, and a shifty-looking suitor scan-111130-0002 Mark the landlord talks to Andy Grove scan-111130-0003 Mark, the REME squaddie scan-111130-0011 Trad jazz in the Wine Lodge scan-111130-0012 A bit of a banjo moment scan-111130-0004 Angela Crann scan-111130-0018 Clarinet jazz action scan-111130-0017 Trad trombone scan-111130-0023 Angela and Mark at Cap'n Jaspers scan-111130-0024 Angela considers a Jasper-burger scan-111130-0025 A blurry view of Sutton Harbour by night scan-111130-0008 The exciting A374 Exeter Street scan-111130-0010 Further up Exeter Street scan-111130-0005 Another photo out of the bedroom window scan-111130-0006 A wide angle bedroom view scan-111130-0007 Dave Mallet, in his Gilwell kitchen. scan-111130-0013 People wander around near the Fish Market scan-111130-0015 A queue for ice-creams on the Barbican scan-111130-0016 Southside Street through the Barbican scan-111130-0014 Very 1980s jeans scan-111130-0019 Dave Lock sits on the wall by Sutton Harbour scan-111130-0020 A sunken fishing boat scan-111130-0021 A scuttled fishing boat in Sutton Harbour scan-111130-0022 People with ice creams on the Mayflower Steps
