Sewell's Cottages, near Aylsham - 1988
Deciding to leave Norwich and get a "place in the sticks", Nosher, Martin Davies and Richard "Dicky Red" Redgrave rent a place out at Red House, a small hamlet near Aylsham in Norfolk. It was nice and rural, but Nosher didn't even have a car, so there would be many 12-mile trips to work by bike - either that or a lift with Richard in his Renault 5 GT (there always seemd to be Prefab Sprout's "The King of Rock and Roll" on the radio).

Sewell's Cottage, in Redhouse (near Aylsham in the depths of Norfolk) was a lovely location in a small hamlet surrounded by fields. This is a rainbow over the field near the end of the drive |

Whilst living out in the sticks, we ended up adopting a wild rabbit, which I named Gus in honour of the once-great Television Wouth West character of the same name |
Gus became so tame that we could even stroke him: Martin has a go |

Martin, who was a big footie fan, wheels the telly outside so he can watch the 1988 F.A. Cup in the Sun. Nosher, meanwhile, gets his duvet out to catch some rays instead |

Nosher was fond of telling the world how he held the Plymouth and South-West Devon Condom Inflation record. He he is trying to prove it... |
When Sean and Maria came to visit, Sean's automatic Ford Escort died and had to be towed away |

We had a spare room in which Martin's drum kit was left set up. I had an old B&O stereo which I also set up, and when everyone was out of the house I'd play drums along to live Genesis. |
