This calculator is based upon the popular formula TS = (0.41 × G/L)(T2 - T1) + T2
where TS = strike temperature in Celsius, G is the grain weight in kilogrammes, L is the volume of liquor in litres, T2 is the required mashing temperature and T1 is the temperature of the grain/ambient room temperature.
