Postcards From the Edge (of the 20th Century)
All the following postcards are scanned in from and are courtesy of the David Hardaker collection, and show various postcards, mostly from the Rumsby family, dating from the end of the 19th Century and up to around the fifties. Most of them are of unknown subjects, but are perhaps all the more charming for this ephemeral quality. They're perhaps not postcards in the modern sense: most are simply photographs that happen to be printed on something that could be sent through the post to relatives and friends, but as with all old photos, they offer a fascinating snapshot into life long ago. Any writings on the back are shown below in quotes.
