Introducing the Space Byte 8085 CPU This advert is for one of many single-board computers available at the time, but it's worth an entry because the company name is one of comparitively few which actually used some sort of space-age theme. It was an S-100 board and came with all of 256 bytes of RAM - as in ΒΌ of a kilobyte. However, it did have a 3K ROM monitor. It was built around Intel's new 3MHz 8085, which was 50% faster than the 8080A used in many contemporary micros like the Sol 20 and Vector's range of computers. The 8085 was also cheaper to build with as it only required a single 5V power supply, rather than the multiple voltages that the older 8080 needed.
