The greatest breakthrough in wrist technology since Seiko introduced quartz Not actually an advert for a computer, per se, but an interesting reflection of what was all the rage at the time: multi-function "James Bond"-style watches. The Seiko RC1000 is shown connecting to a BBC Model B over a serial RS232 link. It had 80 pages of 24 characters - about 1.8Kb - and could do text, alerts and basic calendaring which could, apparently, revolutionise lives.
