Aggregate Dockets from the Building of USAF Eye (Brome) Airfield - 1943
Built later in the war (during 1943) to house B-17s of the 8th Airforce's 490th Heavy Bombardment Group (and occasional stray aircraft such as a the B-24 Liberator that crashed on to the Swan Inn, Brome), which were stationed there between April 1944 and August 1945. These dockets were found by D Hardaker in old sheds in what is now the car-park of the Saracen's Head pub in Diss, and detail deliveries of hoggin and aggregates from Roydon Pit to "Brome RAF Station" and RAF Honnington.
