A Party off North Hill (North Road East), Plymouth - 1986
This is a set of previously-missing photos scanned courtesy of a leased CanoScan FS4000 (cheers Ben!), and which I previously had no prints of whatsoever. It's like getting a new set of photos, but from something that happened, like, eighteen years ago. By the looks of it, I'd been asked specifically to take photos of this party (hence the sheer number, in the days when developing-and-printing was more expensive than a night on the beer) but generally remember none of this stuff happening. I do remember the door opening to the strains of The Beastie Boys' "(You Gotta) Fight for the Right", and eventually "borrowing" some curtains from a nearby window to sleep under on a hard, concrete, floor for the night. In the folder of negatives that this comes from, it is marked as Simon Read's party.

I think that the guy on the left is the eponymous Simon Read. Classic triangular 80s cocktail glass... |

In the kitchen. Note the typical student cupboard: a loaf of bread and a jar of Martmite. And that's it. |
